Cane River Lake Near 5.5 Feet Stage; Rain Shower Thursday
August 22, 2013 -- The sky was partly cloudy today with no morning rainfall observed at Natchitoches, La. At 8 AM CDT today, the sky was partly cloudy, wind was calm in speed, temperature at 74.2 degrees and barometeric pressure (altimeter) at 30.11 in. Hg (1019 hPa).
The afternoon was partly cloudy. A rain shower developed during the 3:00 PM CDT hour. Rain was observed at 3:00 PM, 3:09 PM and 3:11 PM. However, the rainfall was not meaurable and amounted to a trace amount. The U. S. Drought Monitor in their Aug. 20, 2013 report has Natchitoches, Natchitoches Parish, La. in a D-1 stage moderate drought. August 14, 2013 ----- It was an overcast day with a rare August cold front passage today at Natchitoches, La. There were periods of rain showers during the day observed as well, with light rainfall amounts with each passing rain shower that had movement to the southeast. It was a humid day but much cooler than yesterday, when the official National Weather Service high for the City of Natchitoches reached 97.9 °F degrees.
