March 12, 2012 -- Cane River Lake at downtown Natchitoches, LA: the official level reading at downtown Natchitoches, La. on Monday, March 12 is near 8.00 ft depth. Interesting enough is that the level was near 1.40 ft depth during fall of last year. Cane River Lake was closed by officials to boating traffic on Mon., March 12, 2012 due to high water.

SYNOPSIS... A SLOW MOVING UPPER LEVEL LOW WAS CENTERED OVER SOUTHWEST KANSAS DURING THE MID AFTERNOON HOURS. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW IS EJECTING OUT INTO THE CENTRAL PLAINS OVER THE OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE AND SOUTHWEST KANSAS. THE WATER VAPOR SHOWS THE UPPER LOW STILL OVER SW KN...DEEPENING SINCE THIS MORNING. STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WATCH FOR WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH 00Z OR 7 PM CDT. TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 71 UNTIL 7 PM FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST TEXAS...ALL OF DEEP EAST AND ALL OF OUR NORTHERN LOUISIANA PARISHES.

March 8, 2012 -- A STORMY EVENING WITH DRIZZLE, RAIN, THUNDER AND LIGHTNING OBSERVED. A SHARP EVENING COLD FRONT TEMPERATURE DROP AT NATCHITOCHES, LA OCCURRED. The 8:00 PM CST TEMPERATURE WAS 73°F AND BY 9:09 PM CST, THE TEMPERATURE HAD FALLEN TO 53°F AT NATCHITOCHES.
