ANOTHER ARCTIC COLD FRONT MOVED INTO THE REGION MONDAY...JANUARY 27TH...RESULTING IN VERY COLD AND MUCH BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS AND GULF COAST REGION.  AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVING ATOP THIS VERY COLD AIR MASS RESULTED IN AREAS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN ACROSS DEEP EAST TEXAS AND THE SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF NORTHCENTRAL LOUISIANA EARLY THIS MORNING...FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A WEEK. THE MORNING HOURS ON THURSDAY AS MOISTURE BEGAN TO OVERRIDE THE
SHALLOW COLD AIRMASS CLOSER TO THE SURFACE. AS THE DAY CONTINUED...
THE DEPTH OF THE COLD AIR BECAME DEEPER AND DEEPER WITH SOME SLEET
AND SNOW FLURRIES REPORTED NEAR THE INTERSTATE 20 CORRIDOR OF
NORTHEAST TEXAS INTO NORTHERN LOUISIANA. BY LATE AFTERNOON...THE
CHANGE OVER FROM LIGHT RAIN TO BRIEF PERIODS OF SLEET AND

Jan. 16, 2014 ---- Today was mostly a sunny day. A ground frost was observed at Natchitoches, La. today.  Cloud cover increased during the 7-8 a.m. CST hours to make the sky mostly overcast. 

Clouds increased during the 7-8 a.m. CST hour at Natchitoches from the NW direction.  This wave pattern was observed to the clouds at 8 a.m. this morning.

Those high clouds moved southeastward and sky became mostly clear to clear during the late morning and early afternoon.  Clouds increased again from the north during the late afternoon for the sky to be partly cloudy with high cloudiness.
