City of Natchitoches Officially Hits 90-Degrees For The First Time This Year
Hurricane Season 2013 Begins Today....

A partly sunny afternoon at Natchitoches, La. observed June 1, 2013,  with the intraday temperature hitting the 90-degree mark for the first time this year.  A 90 degree reading was not officially NWS recorded during May 2013 at Natchitoches.

June 1, 2013 --- The morning sky varied in degrees of cloudiness from being cloudy to mostly cloudy.  A light rain shower occurred at 7:38 AM CDT today producing a trace amount of rainfall.  It was a humid morning with  9:00 AM CDT hour dewpoints at 74.3 degrees.  The official NWS low temperature for Natchitoches, La. today was 74.4 degrees.  Yesterday's official NWS high temperature was 87.8 degrees.  The official rainfall for the City during the past 24-hour period ending at 8:00 AM CDT today was 0.13".  The sky was overcast at 10:00 AM CDT, temperature at 81.2 degrees, wind was from the SSW (200 degrees) at 10 MPH (9 KT) and barometeric pressure (altimeter): 29.89 in. Hg (1012 hPa). At 12:00 PM CDT, the temperature was 83.7 degrees, sky was cloudy, wind was from the SW (220 degrees) at 6 MPH (5 KT) and Pressure (altimeter) at 29.94 in. Hg (1013 hPa).  At 2:37 PM CDT, the temperature hit 90 degrees at Natchitoches, Louisiana, being the first official NWS 90 degree reading  recorded for the City this year.   At 4:00 PM CDT, the temperature was 90.5 or 91 degrees, sky was partly sunny, dewpoint value was 74 degrees,
wind was from the SSW (200 degrees) at 10 MPH (9 KT) and barometeric pressure (altimeter) at 29.87 in. Hg (1011 hPa).  The sky during the 7:00 PM CDT hour was mostly sunny (mostly clear) to partly sunny.  At 10:00 PM CDT, the sky was clear above, temperature 79.8 degrees, wind wasfrom the S (190 degrees) at 8 MPH (7 KT) and barometeric pressure (altimeter) at 29.87 in. Hg (1011 hPa).  Frequent distant lightning was observed to the NW thru NE sky from Natchitoches, La. during the 8:00 PM-11:59 PM hour from flood producing thunderstorms in the Monroe, La. area.  Thunderstorms were located also over Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Lincoln Parishes during the 10:00 PM hour.   At 11:05 PM CDT, the temperature was 78.3 degrees, partly cloudy (clr above with  clouds moving in from N, NW), lightning distant NW thru NE at 11:05 PM CDT, wind was from the S (180 degrees) at 8 MPH (7 KT) and Pressure (altimeter): 29.89 in. Hg (1012 hPa).
During the evening hours from 8:00 PM to 11:59 PM CDT, the sky was mostly clear until the 11 PM CDT hour.   Frequent distant lightning was observed from the NW sky to the NE sky from 8 PM CDT to 11:59 PM CDT from a squall line of storm located over northern Louisiana, some of which produced very heavy rainfall at Farmerville, La. and other locations in northeast Louisiana.
