August 30 - September 4, 2013 --- The mornings were clear or partly cloudy.  Partly cloudy skies prevailed during the afternoons during this period.  Evenings had partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.  The evening wind was light to calm in speed during this time period.  Labor Day 2013 (Sept. 2), was hot one at Natchitoches, Louisiana with a partly cloudy to mostly cloudy sky about 3:00 PM CDT. The morning sky on Labor Day was partly cloudy.  A light afternoon rain shower produced a trace amount of rainfall officially at Natchitoches during Labor Day 2013.   On Sept. 3, 2013, a rain shower began at 5:36 PM CDT and produced 0.06 inches of rain.  It was a very hot afternoon for Sept. 3, 2013 as the official National Weather Service Natchitoches, LA high temperature reached 96.8°F or 97°F.  During the period of Sept. 3-4, 2013, a strong late summer high pressure system was centered over the Rocky Mountains near Colorado.
