August 5-6, 2013 ----  For Aug. 5,  the sky began the morning as clear, then became partly cloudy about 9:00 AM CDT, a partly cloudy afternoon with the heat index in the 105-108 degree range with a south or southwest wind prevailing.  For Aug. 6, the sky was clear or mostly clear for most of the day...with just a few (2% sky cover) passing clouds during the afternoon hours.  The heat index on Aug. 6 during the afternoon hours was in the 104-108 degree range.  At 7:30 PM CDT on Aug. 6,  the sky was clear, temperature at 90 degrees, the wind was calm in speed and the barometeric pressure (altimeter) at 29.87 in. Hg (1011 hPa).  At 8 PM CDT, the sky was clear, wind was calm, temperature at 87 degrees and  barometeric pressure (altimeter) at 29.87 in.
